Paul Mengert believes that running a good business is about more than just money

Paul Mengert is the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Association Management Group, one of the most successful homeowners association and condominium association management companies in the Carolinas. The company has six locations and manages hundreds of properties. However, Paul Mengert believes that running a good business is about more than just money. Late last year, Paul Mengert spoke to a Harvard Business School Alumni Meeting in New York concerning the social responsibility of businesses.
 
Paul Mengert and Association Management Group are known for having high rates of customer satisfaction. Paul Mengert has not been shy about involving Association Management Group in numerous projects in the various communities where the company is active. Years ago, he and the rest of the leadership in the business decided that treating their customers well was important, but not enough to fulfill their obligation to society. They sought to separate themselves as an outstanding business by interacting positively with their employees and giving back to their communities.
 
Paul Mengert told the audience that treating customers well, meant operating with empathy and integrity. Employees needed to be treated as if they were family, he said, and should be given ample opportunity to grow professionally. In addition to lending support to business focused organizations like the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and the Chamber of Commerce, Association Management Group has sponsored local organizations like food banks, breast cancer awareness events, law enforcement groups, scouting groups, little league teams, and others. Association Management Group hasn't stopped there, either They have provided support to widows, children, and refugees who moved to their communities. Paul Mengert shared with the audience about how Association Management Group has offered transportation assistance to medical patients and an NGO in Haiti following the earthquake.
